APPLICATIONS INVITED FOR EMPLOYMENT IN SOUTH KOREA

 

                In pursuance of agreement recently signed with Republic of South Korea, OEC invites applications for employment as General Labour in South Korea under the Employment Permit System for Foreign Workers (hereinafter referred to as the “EPS”). Candidates desirous of seeking employment in South Korea should fulfill the following qualifications/requirements:-

                     I.      Educational Qualification:      Matriculation.

                    II.      Age limit: Between 18 to 39 years.

                  III.      Holder of Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).

                  IV.      Preferably have 2 years experience in manufacturing industry

 

2.             The following procedure will be adopted:

a.        In the first instance OEC shall shortlist candidates as per above mentioned criteria and subsequently shortlist them according to demand from Korea in various fields/trades of employment.

b.        Short listed candidates will be required to under go training of 15 - 20 days in Korean language, Korean culture, relevant industry and EPS at one of the training Centers located in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta. Choice of training centre may be indicated by the applicants.

c.        Each trainee will have to pay of Rs.3000/- as Security to be deposited before the start of the training. This Security will be refunded to the following categories of trainees:

                        i.     Those who fail to complete the training.

ii.    Those who fail to qualify the test to be conducted by HRD Korea.

iii.     Those trainees who are not employed by Korean employers for a period of  one year from the date of passing the Korean Language Test.

d.        Short listed candidates will be required to undergo medical fitness test by authorized Medical Centers of OEC on payment of fee of Rs.2500/-. Selected candidates will have to undergo medical examination at the same fee before departure also.

e.        All trainees will make their own arrangements for boarding and lodging during their stay in the city of respective Training Centers.

f.           After under going training an examination will be conducted by Korean authorities. Each trainee will have to pay US $ 30 (Rs.1830/-) as examination fee to the Korean Authorities for test to be conducted by them.

g.        Passing of the test by Korean authorities would be compulsory but will not guarantee employment in South Korea.

h.        No TA/DA will be admissible for reporting to the Test Centers.

 

3.             The details of the terms and conditions of employment will be those as will be offered by the prospective employers in Korea. However, the following aspects may be kept in mind:-

a.        The minimum salary in Korea is $700/- per month.

b.        Some Companies offer food and accommodation while others offer one of these or none.

 

4.             Interested candidates are required to apply on data bank form of OEC, which can be obtained from any of the following offices of the Corporation on payment of Rs.200/-, along with two passport size colored photographs, copies of educational/ experience certificates and NADRA CNIC, latest by 7th October, 2006:

5.             Candidates will be called for interview by giving an advertisement in the press within a fortnight, after the closing date.
