In order to have good management of emigration from the country, Government of Pakistan has established Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) in 1976, under Ministry of Labor, Manpower & Overseas Pakistanis as a state owned Corporation.

OEC is operating with a network of five offices with throughout the country. The Head Office of the organization is based at Islamabad, with four regional offices located at Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta. It has earned a very eminent position in recruitment services provider in Pakistan, discerning manpower recruitment services to both Public and Private Sector employers, especially in Gulf, Middle East, Africa, and Far East.

To maintain the biodatas of the candidates seeking employment abroad a Resume Bank has been created at Head Office of the Corporation at Islamabad.

To have the ticketing facilities for it’s selectees, a Travel Division (named OEC Travels) has been established under General Sales Agent (GSA) license of PIA.

The organization chart of the Corporation is as under:-

1. Advertising job specification and job description on behalf of clients. Inviting applications from job seeker applicants and short listing applications.
   Searching and providing CVs of the candidates to match requirement of the qualifications, experience, training and age limit etc as given by the foreign employer. Marshalling candidates for interviews through e-mail, telephone contacts and postal services.
   Arranging interviews
   Arranging Trade testing/examination;
2. Verification and authentication of certificates/documents;

Medical examination by authorized Medical agencies

Security clearance, wherever required by the law of the host country

Visa endorsement by respective client countries;

Ticketing and reservation of air passage;

Dispatch of workers at the airport;

Intimating the clients in advance about arrival schedule of a worker.
